Virginia Beach Kids Summer Camp

Here at Freedom Kids Trail Camp summer in Virginia Beach is about exploring, growing and having fun!  Our summer trail camp focuses on heightening the awareness level of the outdoor world through exploration and fun.  The beauty and diversity of First Landing State Park provide the perfect setting for learning about our natural surroundings.  From the maritime forest to the tidal salt marsh and cypress swamps we will explore the various trails and waters edges on our kids summer camp as we cultivate a deeper understanding of the outdoor world.
Camps are 5 days & operate from 9am-1pm Monday-Friday
Spots are Limited and Fill Up Fast

Cost is $350
Pizza on Friday!
We meet at the 64th street entrance of First Landing State Park at the end of the road near the boat ramp.  Drop off begins as early as 8:30am and pickup is at 1:00pm each day of camp.  All campers should bring a lunch each day except Friday.  We will have waters and snacks provided everyday. Each camper should bring a towel, walking shoes, hat, sunscreen, rash guard sun shirt and extra water!  A backpack is good to have as well!

Summer Camp Activities Include:

  • Hiking the various trails of First Landing State Park
  • Learning to identify a wide variety of plants and animals and their functions 
  • ​Hunting for arrowheads and ancient artifacts
  • Gaining a deeper understanding of tides, currents, wind and weather patterns
  • Scavenger Hunts
  • Capture the Flag
  • Corn Hole
  • ​Tug-o-War
  • Swimming, wading and exploring through the shoreline of the beautiful interior beaches of Broad Bay and the narrows
  • Building outdoor navigational skills​
  • Learning the history of the native Americans and the settlers

As parents and outdoor enthusiasts we strive to cultivate a love of the outdoors and a deeper understanding of our natural surroundings in our son.  Bryan Hopkins is a native of Virginia Beach and owner of GoKayak which has operated kayak dolphin tours for nearly a decade and now Freedom Kids Trail Camp.  We hope to share our passion for the great outdoors with your family as well.
